What Is The One Thing That You Would Like To Change In Your Life Today?

I received an email the other day from my good friend Jonathan Budd, who is launching his The Unstoppable Entrepreneur program. If you’ve not seen it yet, I highly recommend that you go and watch Jonathan’s movie, it’s one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen.



Anyway, back to JB’s email, in which he stated that most people think transformation is going from exactly where they are, to somewhere completely different, overnight.



Whereas the truth is; that the most astounding transformations & results are possible, if you can just commit to making one small change in your life today. Then another really small one tomorrow.



I gave this some thought and realised that I had been guilty of this kind of thinking for most of my professional career. I would set huge goals for myself, which I would invariably not hit, resulting in massive pressure and zero personal achievement.



That’s not to say that we shouldn’t set huge goals for ourselves, it’s just important to adopt a realistic time frame and break the goal down into manageable chunks, rather than trying to do everything “yesterday” which is what I invariably tried to do.





Jonathan’s challenge was to choose just one new possibility or element of personal change and commit to creating that possibility or change today, however small.



An area that I have really been struggling with as a home based entrepreneur, is getting up at the same time every morning, despite the fact that I know it is one of the keys to having a super productive day.



After reading JB’s email I committed to getting this area of my life handled once and for all, and not only was I going to get up at the same time everyday, I was going to get up a full hour earlier than my average, 6am every morning.



Now this may sound like a small change, but just three days in it has been absolutely transformational, in terms of increased energy and productivity.



The key though is not just that I’m getting up at the same time each morning, but moreover that I am winning a personal battle with myself, every day; that’s where the real power lies!



In closing, I just want to share one more simple tip with you. If you are having difficulty creating change or new possibilities in any area of your life, get yourself an “accountability partner” to literally hold you accountable when things get tough.




My advice however, would be, not to choose just anyone to be your accountability partner. Choose someone,who’s opinion is really important to you, even better choose someone in who’s eyes you simply cannot bear to fail.



I think you will find this helps you to escape the pull of the duvet on a cold morning or whatever else your personal battle may be!
